WHAT I SAY

King Kong is a 1st and 3rd person action adventure.  The 1st person sections were played as Jack and were shooter based and the 3rd person sections were played as Kong constantly chasing after Anne and smashing things.

It got great praise back when it released but I'm still not entirely sure why it did.  Granted, it was certainly good in comparison to most other movie tie-ins back then, but aside from that I just don't see why it go the praise, that said... I'm glad it did.

The Kong levels were certainly more enjoyable and dynamic than the Jack levels in general; fast paced and ferocious.

WHAT I DID

I joined Ubisoft to work on a Rayman reboot that by the time I arrived to start work in Montreal had been cancelled.  I was moved to the King Kong project.  The Kong levels had been moved over to Montreal due to time constraints, this wasn't without it's problems.

I did technical work on Kong's movement system tightening his speeds and jumping distances as well as some tech documentation on the camera system and trigger system as all the documentation and most of the engine was in French.  I picked apart how things worked and wrote up supporting documents.

Aside from that I worked on 4 different Kong levels, specifically spearheading our kick-off level which saw the beginning of our problems working with the team in Montepellier that would eventually see a small team of us moving over there for 3 months to complete the project.
