WHAT THE BOX SAID

WHAT I SAY
Galleon was an epic 3rd person action adventure game with similarities to Tomb Raider, and understandably so as it was the brainchild of Toby Gard, the original creator of Tomb Raider. It had a troubled development but it finally managed to see the light of day getting published and released by SCi and Atlas. with several islands to explore, solve puzzles in and unravel the mysteries of the ship it was a big game, and developed by a pretty tiny team, about 13 of us. The animation system, at the time, was pretty revolutionary and the protagonists ability to clamber and climb around his environment had not been seen before.
WHAT I DID
It may be easier to say what I didn't do on this project. It was a big game developed by a small team. Every one of us on the team wore multiple hats. I was, essentially a level artist and designer, but did a heavy amount of game design, scripting, timebars (timeline based scenes), music implementation and more.
This was one of the best experiences I've had working in games, working alongside some truly dedicate people who loved what they were doing. It was hard work and long work at times, but felt totally worth it.
